Stage
Serum creatinine and urine output criteria
1
Serum creatinine increased 1.5–1.9 times baseline or increase >26.4 umol/L (0.3 mg/dl) or urinary output < 0.5 ml/kg/h during a 6 hour block
2
Serum creatinine increased 2.0–2.9 times baseline or urinary output < 0.5 ml/kg/h during two 6 hour blocks
3
Serum creatinine increased >3 times baseline or increased to >353 umol/L (4 mg/dl) or initiation of renal replacement therapy or urinary output < 0.3 ml/kg/h during more than 24 hours or anuria for more than 12 hours
