Inhibition of tubulin polymerization evaluated by cell-free tubulin polymerization assay. Inhibition of tubulin polymerization by individual compounds (3 μM) or colchicine (3 μM) was measured by a tubulin polymerization assay kit (Cytoskeleton Inc.) according to the manufacturer’s protocol. Tubulin polymerization curves are shown following incubation with (a) fused naphthalene, (b) fused pyrazole, (c) fused dimethylaminobenzene, or (d) fused benzodioxolane.
