The lumbar plexus originates from the iliohypogastric nerves (T12 ± L1), ilioinguinal (L1 ± T12), genitofemoral (L1 and L2), femoral (L2–L4), cutaneous femoral (L2 and L3), obturator (L2–L4), and lumbosacral trunk (L4 and L5).
