IRE1 and HAC1 are required for the survival of gas1Δ yeast cells under the tunicamycin-induced stress. (a) Yeast cells of the BY4742, gas1Δ, GAS1 OE, ire1Δ, hac1Δ, gas1Δire1Δ, and gas1Δhac1Δ strains were serially diluted (1:10) and cultured on YPD plates with or without 0.25 μg/mL Tm. (b) Growth curves of the mutant strains treated with or without 0.25 μg/mL Tm were monitored (OD₆₀₀) at various time points. Tm denotes Tunicamycin, and BY4742 was considered to be the control.
