In Volcano Plots each point represents the difference in expression between normoxia and hypoxia against the level of significance. The x-axis specifies the ΔΔCt and the y-axis specifies the negative logarithm to the base 10 of the t-test p-values. The horizontal dotted line reflects the filtering criteria (p-value = 0.05). Pie charts indicate the numerical proportion of each set of genes whose expression was modulated in hypoxia.
