Lovastatin Enhances Cytotoxicity of Temozolomide via Impairing Autophagic Flux in Glioblastoma Cells
Lovastatin triggered the autophagy initiation pathway and impaired autophagosome-lysosome fusion mechanism. U87 and U251 cells were treated with TMZ (500 μM), lovastatin (5 μM), or combination for 72 hrs. (a) The western blot assay was used to detect the key markers in the autophagic initiation pathway and autolysosome maturation. (b) Quantification of western blot results of the Akt/mTOR pathway; N = 3. (c) Quantification of western blot results of autolysosome fusion markers; N = 3. ;;;; ns = no significance.
