Carnosine Protects Mouse Podocytes from High Glucose Induced Apoptosis through PI3K/AKT and Nrf2 Pathways

<p>Carnosine protects MPC5 cells from HG-induced apoptosis. (a) Apoptosis of MPC5 cells were detected by TUNEL assay (n=3). Green fluorescence indicates TUNEL-positive and blue indicates DAPI. (b-c) The Western blot showed the protein expression of nephrin, Bax, Bcl-2 and Cleaved caspase-3 in MPC5 cells (n=4). Cells were incubated with normal glucose (NG, 5.5 mM), high glucose (HG, 30 mM), and carnosine (5-20mM) under HG condition for 48h.
