Application of Aluminum Oxide Nanoparticles in Aspergillus terreus Cultivations: Evaluating the Effects on Lovastatin Production and Fungal Morphology

Microscopic images of Aspergillus terreus ATCC 20542 pellets observed in the course of shake flask cultivation in the presence of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) micro- and nanoparticles at the concentration of 6 g . In the control no aluminum oxide was present. Presented microscopic images were taken at the time of inoculation (at 0 h) and after 24, 48, and 120 hours of growth. Scale bar: 1000 μm.
