Brucine Suppresses Vasculogenic Mimicry in Human Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Cell Line MDA-MB-231

The effect of brucine on MDA-MB-231 cell viability and apoptosis. The chemical structure of brucine was presented here (a). After MDA-MB-231 cells treated with the vehicle control (DMSO) or 0.0625, 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1, or 2 mM brucine for 24 h, the cell viability was evaluated by MTT assay (b), and bright field images (c) and Hochest33342/PI double staining photographs (d) of MDA-MB-231 cells were captured under microscopy. After MDA-MB-231 cells treated with the vehicle control (DMSO) or 0.0625, 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, or 1 mM brucine for 24 h, cell apoptosis was detected with the Annexin V-FITC Apoptosis Detection Kit (e); the apoptosis-related protein caspase-3 cleavage was measured by western blot assay (f).
