Montelukast, a Cysteinyl Leukotriene Receptor 1 Antagonist, Induces M2 Macrophage Polarization and Inhibits Murine Aortic Aneurysm Formation

Figure 2

Gene expressions of IL-10 and arginase-1, cell surface antigen expression of arginase-1, and protein concentration of IL-10. Macrophages were incubated for 96 hours with medium with (n=3) or without (n=3) 20 μM montelukast. Gene expressions of IL-10 and arginase-1 were measured by qRT-PCR, arginase-1 cell surface antigen expression on macrophages was analyzed by flow cytometry, and protein concentration of IL-10 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Macrophages cultured with montelukast demonstrate significantly increased gene expressions of IL-10 and arginase-1 (a), protein expression of arginase-1 (b), and protein concentration of IL-10 (c). Data are presented as the mean ± standard error of the mean. (a) , (b, c) .
