Effects of ARE on the LPS-stimulated elevations of NO (a) and ROS (b) in keratinocytes. After the HaCaT cells were preincubated with the varying concentrations (0, 10, 50, and 200 μg/mL) of ARE, the cells were treated with 1 μg/mL LPS for 24 h. In (a), accumulated nitrite, an index of NO, in conditioned medium was determined based upon Griess reaction. In (b), the ROS level is represented as DCF fluorescence, an arbitrary unit.
