Curcumin suppressed the TGF-β2-induced EMT and TGF-β/Smad pathway activation. (a) EMT-related protein (fibronectin, α-SMA, and E-cadherin) and phosphorylated Smad2/3 in cells treated with TGF-β2 (0, 10 ng/ml) and curcumin (0, 5, and 10 μM) for 24 h were detected by western blots. (b) Densitometric analyses of the protein expression levels of fibronectin, E-cadherin, α-SMA, and p-Smad2/3 from the western blots are shown.
