ERK1/2 Signaling Pathway Activated by EGF Promotes Proliferation, Transdifferentiation, and Migration of Cultured Primary Newborn Rat Lung Fibroblasts

Figure 1

(a, b) Protein expression level of p-ERK was detected by immunocytochemistry in the lung fibroblasts (LFs) following treatment (). Positive phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (p-ERK)1/2 antigen expression was found distributed in the cell cytoplasm and nucleus. (c, d). ERK and p-ERK protein levels in LFs following treatment were detected in the western blots of protein samples from the four groups. Control group: LFs without any treatment; PD98059 group: LFs treated with 10 μmol/L PD98059; epidermal growth factor (EGF) group: LFs treated with 20 ng/mL EGF; EGF+PD98059 group: LFs treated with both 20 ng/mL EGF and 10 μmol/L PD98059. All treatments were administered for 24 h. Data are presented as the (SD; ). vs. control cells. vs. control cells. # vs. EGF group. ## vs. EGF group.
