Germacrone induced apoptosis in Eca109 cells. (a) Eca109 cells were treated with germacrone (0, 10, 20, and 30 μg/mL) or CCDP (10 μg/mL) for 24 h. Cellular morphology was observed under a phase contrast microscope. (b) Nuclear morphology was assessed using Hoechst 33258 staining (arrows indicate apoptotic nuclei). (c, d) Apoptosis levels were determined by Flow Cytometry using Annexin V-PI staining.
