Keratin 23 (KRT23) expression affected TGF-β/Smad signaling pathways. (a) Scatter plots of KRT23 and genes involved in TGF-β/Smad signaling pathways. (b) Western blot was conducted to analyze the expression of TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway-related genes. KRT23 knockdown reduced the expression levels of p-Smad2/p-Smad3. (c) SKOV3 cells were transfected with control or KRT23 siRNA as indicated. Cells were then subjected to immunofluorescence using Smad2, p-Smad2, Smad3, and p-Smad3 antibodies and DAPI. Immunofluorescence staining showed that after silencing KRT23 expression, the expression of p-Smad2/p-Smad3 decreased significantly. Scale bars, 30 μm.
