Metformin and the combination of metformin and 5-FU inhibited the viability of HCT116 and SW1463. Metformin inhibited the proliferation of HCT116 and SW1463 cells in a dose-dependent manner (a). Metformin (5 mM) combined with 5-FU could significantly inhibit the proliferation of the HCT116 (b) and SW1463 (c) cells compared to the 5-FU ().
