Ameliorative Effects of Gallic Acid on Cisplatin-Induced Nephrotoxicity in Rat Variations of Biochemistry, Histopathology, and Gene Expression

Figure 1

Effect of Gallic acid on Cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity as measured by (a) plasma creatinine, (b) plasma urea, and (c) plasma uric acid. Nephrotoxicity in rats was induced by a single dose of Cisplatin (6 mg/kg bw, IP) and Gallic acid (50 mg/kg bw, gavage) administered 5 days prior to CP treatment and continued till the end of the experiment (5 days). ; values are expressed as (). The results show that Gallic acid attenuated Cisplatin-induced renal toxicity.
