Mitophagy Impairment Aggravates Cisplatin-Induced Ototoxicity

<div>Knockdown of <i>Parkin</i> and <i>BNIP3</i> enhances cisplatin- (CP-) induced mitochondrial dysfunction. HEI-OC1 cells were transfected with the indicated siRNAs followed by treatment with cisplatin (10 <i>μ</i>M, 24 h). (a) Mitochondrial membrane potential was examined by flow cytometry. (b) Mitochondrial depolarization was significantly greater in cisplatin-treated HEI-OC1 cells transfected with <i>Parkin</i> and <i>BNIP3</i> siRNAs as compared to cisplatin-treated cells transfected with si-Control.
