Cytokine concentrations in skin biopsies of rats treated with NLCG, SSDC, and ZER-NLCG. The concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were significantly higher in nontreated diabetic than normal rat skin. Among treatments, ZER-NLCG was the most effective in reducing cytokine levels in the diabetic rat skin.
