Histological examination of liver tissues by H&E staining: (a) control (group 1) showed normal hepatic structure; (b) group 2 showed congested central vein (co); (c) group 3 showed nearly normal hepatic cell architecture; (d) group 4 showed hepatic vascular degeneration, sinusoidal dilatation, picnotic and hyperchromatic cells, focal necrosis sites and mononuclear cellular infiltration, Von Kupffer cell hyperplasia, necrotic, apoptotic of hepatocelluar appearance, edema and ballooning degenerative changes (de), and congested hepatic veins; and (e) group 5 showed the hepatic architecture restored to normal except hepatic veins congestion (co).
