Alpha-Amylase Inhibits Cell Proliferation and Glucose Uptake in Human Neuroblastoma Cell Lines

<div>Treatment of NB cells with <i>α</i>-amylase decreases the cell number dose dependently. Human NB cells (a) SH-SY5Y, (b) IMR-32, and (c) LA-N-1 were incubated with porcine pancreatic <i>α</i>-amylase for 72 h, and then, an MTT assay was used for indirect determination of cell number. The IC<sub>50</sub> of each repeat is presented on the right side of the graph. The results are expressed as percent of control.
