Timeline of stroke procedure, treatment behavioral, and biochemical tests. The rats were divided into 7 groups ( animals in each group) and were treated as described in “Materials and Methods.” Each experimental animal group consists of 7-8 animals in behavioral assessments, 3 animals in molecular evaluations, and 2-3 animals in histopathological assays. At the end of treatments, the animals were subjected to the behavioral assessment. In the next step, the effects of drug treatments on the biochemical factors were investigated in the different sets of animals.
