Relative mRNA expression level of different MMPs in cardiac, dermal, and pulmonary human fibroblasts after treatment with 10 ng/mL TNF-α for 24 hours. The mRNA expression was normalized to the housekeeping gene CDKN1b and to the according untreated control using the formula 2^{−ΔΔ𝐶𝑡} and is given as x-fold increase. For statistical significance treated and untreated control were compared using Mann-Whitney U test.
