Diverse Effect of Vitamin C and N-Acetylcysteine on Aluminum-Induced Eryptosis

Effect of AlCl3 on hemolysis in the absence and presence of EGTA. AlCl3 increased hemolysis in a dose-dependent manner. EGTA (1 mM) decreased the effect of Al on erythrocyte hemolysis. Data are mean ± SD of at least five independent experiments. Nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test was used for the statistical analyses.  < 0.05 was considered as significant statistical differences between the group. values compared to the control untreated control group: = 0.028,  = 0.002,  = 0.0001, and values compared to corresponding AlCl3-treated groups: ## = 0.027, ### = 0.045.
