Computational Intelligence in Image and Video Analysis

This issue is now closed for submissions.

Description

Nowadays, there are volumes of images and videos measured by multiple sensors including optical, hyperspectral, and radar. Those images and videos can be used to detect, recognize, and track targets. In this way, the anomalies, interested targets or regions can be found for battlefield surveillance, face recognition, geological survey, etc. With the development of computational intelligence, there are a variety of effective tools emerging including neural networks, expert systems, and other intelligent algorithms. These can be flexibly adjusted and modified for image and video analysis including feature extraction or decision making.

However, it is still a challenging task to properly analyze and interpret those data for both civil and military applications. The proper application or design of computational intelligence algorithms could contribute to the improvement of both effectiveness and efficiency of image and video processing.

Therefore, the aim of this Special Issue is to apply computational intelligence in image and video analysis. The Issue will provide novel guidance for relevant researchers and broaden the perspectives of computational intelligence researchers. Original research and review articles are welcomed.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Computational intelligence for image and video analysis
  • Computational intelligence tools in artificial intelligence
  • Computational intelligence in image interpretation
  • Computational intelligence in video interpretation
  • Computational intelligence in image classification / target recognition
  • Computational intelligence in video detection / tracking
  • Deep learning for image and video analysis
