Computational Intelligence in Biomedical Science and Engineering
Description
Biomedical science and engineering is an interdisciplinary research field that addresses some of the society's greatest challenges. Since biomedical problems generally have large variations and complexity, it is difficult to use a simple way or a classical approach to solve them. Computational intelligence techniques such as neural networks and evolutionary algorithms are nature-inspired computational approaches to address complex problems of the real world. Recently, computational intelligence is playing an important role in biomedical research fields, such as computer-aided diagnostics (CAD), computer-aided surgery (CAS), computational anatomy, and bioinformatics.
This special issue will focus on recent developments in computational intelligence for biomedical science and engineering and computational biomedicine. Both researchers and practitioners are welcome to submit their contributed papers. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Computational intelligence for biomedical science and engineering
- Intelligent biomedical signal and image processing
- Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD)
- Computer-aided surgery (CAS)
- Computational biomedicine
- Computational anatomy
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/cin/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
