Gastrointestinal Cancers: Molecular Genetics and Biomarkers

Description

This special issue of the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology calls for publication of peer-reviewed original research and review articles that provide an unprecedented forum for discussing, revealing, and sharing various topics related to Gastrointestinal Cancers: Molecular Genetics and Biomarkers.

In recent years, molecular genetics and cancer biomarkers had played a critical role in understanding the basic processes of different malignancies. Our journal provides a platform for the researchers to communicate various experimental procedures, methodologies, hypotheses, and diagnostic agents used by them to explore the genomic, biochemical, and epigenomic approaches of the field of gastrointestinal oncology.

Our comprehensive goal is to establish the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology as a leading journal in the field. With an incredible editorial board and the increasing impact factor, we endeavor to surpass authors expectations by maintaining a modest and time-efficient online submission procedure. All the submitted manuscripts will be subjected to rigorous selection criteria together with the consultation of the editors, the members of the editorial board, and the external peer-review by independent, anonymous experts in the field.

We invite investigators to submit original research articles and reviews to this special issue in all types of gastrointestinal cancer, including colon, pancreatic, stomach, gallbladder, and liver cancer that describe new findings in the field of gastrointestinal oncology.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Genetic epidemiology of gastrointestinal cancers
  • Molecular pathogenesis of gastrointestinal cancers
  • DNA methylation and histone modification mechanisms in gastrointestinal cancers
  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS) of gastrointestinal tumors
  • Gastrointestinal hereditary and nonhereditary gastrointestinal cancer syndromes
  • Liquid biopsies in gastrointestinal cancer detection
  • Tumor markers in gastrointestinal cancer detection
  • Role of noncoding RNAs in gastrointestinal detection
