It can be seen that the inserts will be read many times: the complete sequence, including the adapters, is called as polymerase read. After the adapter sequences are removed, the sequence is split into subreads. The circular consensus read (CCS), also known as read of insert (ROI), is the high-quality consensus sequence from subreads that are from the same insert.
