On photomicrographs (magnification 40x) of noninfarcted myocardium, a marginally higher expression of CD13 was noticed (c). Note that expression of CD13 is not restricted to blood vessels but that endothelium of blood vessels is positive in the infarcted heart as opposed to the sham (arrows).
