Quantitative Model for Efficient Temporal Targeting of Tumor Cells and Neovasculature

Table 1

Numerical values for the parameters in (1) and (9) used in our simulations. In addition to the values shown, we use in the dimensionful equations 𝐷 1 = 0 . 3 2  mm2/day for lung cancer and 𝐷 1 = 0 . 4 6  mm2/day for melanoma, 𝜌 = 0 . 3 5 day-1 for both melanoma and lung cancer (see Section 3.1), and a threshold for the detectability of tumor cells 𝑐 𝑡 = 0 . 0 9 [22]. As explained in the main text we have 𝐷 3 = 𝐷 4 and ̃ 𝜆 ( 𝐶 ) ̃ 𝜆 = 1 0 0 ( 𝐷 ) . The effectiveness of chemotherapy and antiangiogenic therapy are parameterized by 𝐴 ( 𝐷 ) = 1 . 6 5 and 𝐴 ( 𝐶 ) = 0 . 1 for lung cancer, and by 𝐴 ( 𝐷 ) = 3 and 𝐴 ( 𝐶 ) = 0 . 3 for melanoma (see Section 3.1).
