Change of magnetic RF field phase due to a brain tumor with a diameter of 1 cm. This phase change increases with the applied frequency (corresponding to the system’s main field ) as well as with the conductivity of the tumor. A mean conductivity of 0.4 S/m was assumed for the healthy parts of the brain, and thus, negative phase changes appear for assumed tumor conductivities below 0.4 S/m.
