The figure shows a schematic summary of the major PET quantification methods organized by considering for each approach the information returned as function of the application requirements. Clinical and research PET imaging studies are separately reported. Within the diagram a diagonal distribution of the methodologies is clearly evident, indicating that more information is obtainable only at the cost of more modelling assumptions.
