Computational Neuroscience

Description

In the past few years, a significant amount of research has been done on computational neuroscience. Among them, a lot of topics have inspired researchers' interests, such as artificial neural networks inspired by biological neural networks, associative memories inspired by human memories, and construction and analysis of genetic regulatory networks. They have wide applications in science and engineering, such as pattern recognition, machine learning, signal processing, robot control, planning and decision making, and real-time optimization. The models aroused in these aspects include backpropagation models, extreme learning machine, cellular neural networks, genetic regulatory networks, associative memory networks, and neurodynamic optimization models.

The main focus of this special issue will be on the new and existing models of computational neuroscience with their applications. The special issue will become an international forum for researchers to summarize the most recent developments and ideas in the field, with a special emphasis given to the theoretical and observational results obtained within the last five years. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Computational neural models
  • Neurodynamic optimization
  • Genetic network models and analysis
  • Learning and memory
  • Neurodynamics, complex systems, and chaos
  • Intelligent systems and control
  • Brain-like systems
  • Bioinformatics and biomedical engineering
  • Neuroinformatics and neuroengineering
  • Systems biology

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/cmmm/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/cmmm/cn/ according to the following timetable:
