Database-Based Deep Learning and Optimization Algorithms for Age-Related Diseases and Conditions

Description

With the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Wise Information Technology of Med (WITMED) has become a new model of healthcare. Patient information systems, including information on patient visits and electronic health records, are the foundation of WITMED. In recent years, cutting-edge technologies, such as AI, deep learning, optimization algorithms, and machine learning, have been gradually applied to research methods and provide great progress in data mining in clinical medicine, especially in the field of age-related diseases and conditions.

Deep learning could automatically extract disease causes from massive high-dimensional clinical data and build high-precision decision analysis models, which could combine feature extraction and decision analysis processes to minimize the subjectivity of feature selection, shorten the pre-analytical processing time, and reduce the labor intensity of physicians in clinical and medical research. Optimization algorithms are important in deep learning by finding the optimized value of parameters to improve accuracy. Due to the complexity, specificity, and individuality of the data, there are several challenges that remain in data mining and processing of age-related diseases and conditions. To fully utilize new technologies such as deep learning and optimization algorithms, there are still unmet requirements for researchers and clinical investigators as this area of research is still in its infancy.

In this Special Issue, we welcome both original research and review articles investigating database-based deep learning and optimization algorithms for age-related diseases and conditions.
