Oedema	Elderly
Granulations	Cranial neuropathies
Micro abscesses (when operated)	Positive radiograph
Positive technetium-99 bone scan of failure of local treatment after more than 1 week	Debilitating conditions

All obligatory criteria must be met for diagnosis to be made.
