Heart Failure 2012
Description
The heart failure epidemic is an important public health issue facing the health care systems of all developed countries. To implement cost-effective strategies to curb the epidemic, better understanding of the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms as well as novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches is needed.
We invite authors to present original research articles as well as review articles shedding light on both basic and clinical research regarding the development and progression of the syndrome. We are particularly interested in manuscripts that report the clinical applications of approved or investigational therapies in chronic and acute, systolic, and diastolic heart failure. Reviews that summarize the results of the latest clinical trials and their implications on treatment practice are particularly welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
- Right heart failure: pulmonary hypertension
- Comorbidities and consequences
- Prognosis determination
- Biomarkers to detect, risk-stratify, and manage patients with heart failure
- The kidney in heart failure
- Management of acute and decompensated heart failure
- Pacemaker/cardiac resynchronization therapy
- Mechanical circulatory support therapy in advanced heart failure
- End-of-life care for end-stage heart failure
- Future research trends
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/crp/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
