Discrete Dynamics in Economic and Business Systems

Description

Discrete dynamics can be utilized to depict complex behaviour and its evolution in physics, mathematics, biology, engineering, economics, and business. Discrete dynamical behaviour can be found in an economic or business system composed of suppliers, retailers, consumers, manufacturers, banks, government, and others.

From the point of view of dynamic disequilibrium, discrete dynamics challenge the traditional theory of economics or business based on the static and equilibrium theory. It regards the system of economics or business as a process-dependent and evolving organism so that many phenomena in economics or business are well explained. In recent decades, based on stability, bifurcation, chaos, synchronization, and control, researchers have studied discrete dynamics and built many models, such as nonlinear difference equations, cellular automata, artificial neural networks, petri nets, and multiagent models.

The aim of this Special Issue is to collate original research and review articles with a focus on the advances of discrete dynamics in economics and business.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Stability, bifurcation, and chaos of discrete economics or business systems
  • Optimization, synchronization, and control of discrete economics or business systems
  • Dynamics of discrete integer-order dynamical systems within business and economics
  • Dynamics of discrete fractional-order dynamical systems within business and economics
  • Dynamics of discrete-continuous dynamical systems within business and economics
  • Discrete dynamics in stochastic systems
  • Time series of economics and business
  • Discrete dynamics in dynamical games
  • Discrete dynamics in supply chain
  • Discrete dynamics of multi-agents within economic and business systems
  • Discrete dynamics of data-driven economic and business models
  • Discrete dynamics of petri net workflow in economics or business
