Electroacupuncture Zusanli (ST36) on Release of Nitric Oxide in the Gracile Nucleus and Improvement of Sensory Neuropathies in Zucker Diabetic Fatty Rats

Figure 6

Changes in withdrawal responses of latency to mechanical, cold and thermal stimuli in ZDF rats following EA ST36 or non-acupoint with or without microinfusion SIN1 into GN. Values were expressed as mean ± SEM ( ). One-way ANOVA analysis indicated that there were significant differences between SIN1 infusion alone and SIN1 infusion plus EA ST36, and between EA ST36 and EA non-point following SIN1 infusion. Withdrawal latencies to mechanical stimuli (a) and thermal stimuli (c) were significantly increased at 20 min after EA ST36 plus SIN1 ( ). Withdrawal latencies to cold stimuli were increased at 40 min after EA ST36 (b).
