Inhibition of DNA synthesis in HepG2 cells after incubation with ASMq ethanol extract. DNA synthesis was evaluated by incorporation of 3[H]-thymidine during a 2.5 hours pulse. Results are expressed as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. P < .05 compared with control culture; P < .05, 48 hours versus 24 hours treatment with ASMq.
