Effects of pterostilbene on colony formation of HRG-β1-stimulated MCF-7 cells. Serum-starved MCF-7 cells were treated with different concentrations of pterostilbene, together with stimulation by HRG-β1 (20 ng/ml), in 0.35% agarose containing 1% FCS over 0.7% agarose containing 1% FCS. Cell colonies were counted by light microscopy after a 14-day incubation at 37°C in 5% CO2. For quantification, colonies greater than 60 mm were scored.
