The effect of S. robusta extracts on LPS-induced IL-1β (a) and IL-6 (b) in THP-1 macrophage cells. (a) The cells were pretreated for 1 h with two selected concentrations of the extracts (20 and 40 μg), and then LPS (1 μg/mL) was added and incubated for 24 h. Control values were obtained in the absence of LPS or extract. The values represent the means ± SD of three independent experiments. * compared with the LPS-treated group; the significance of the difference between the treated groups was evaluated using the Student’s t-test.
