Analysis of the apoptosis in MCME-treated cancer cells. (a) Morphological changes of Hone-1, AGS, HCT-116, and CL1-0 cells treated with MCME at 0.35, 0.25, 0.3, and 0.25 mg/mL for 24 h. (b) Assessment of apoptotic cells in MCME-treated cancer cells. Cells with apoptotic characteristic DAPI-staining nuclei were counted by at least 1000 cells using fluorescence microscopy. Data were represented by mean ± SD from three independent experiments. Asterisk (*) indicates a significant value < 0.05, as compared with controls.
