Anti-Inflammatory Activities of a Chinese Herbal Formula IBS-20 In Vitro and In Vivo

IBS-20 inhibited LPS-stimulated expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines/mediators in bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs). BMDMs were treated with LPS (1 ng/mL) in the presence or absence of IBS-20 extracts (20 or 100 μg/mL). After 24 hours, cells were collected in Trizol for mRNA expression of TNFα (a), IL-6 (b), IL-12p35 (c), IL-12p40 (d), IL-1β (e), and NOS-2 (f) by qPCR. * versus respective vehicle (VEH), ϕ versus LPS alone. Data shown in bar graphs are the mean ± s.e.m and representative of at least two independent experiments.
