It Is Not Just Folklore: The Aqueous Extract of Mung Bean Coat Is Protective against Sepsis

<table>Oral administration of MBC extract significantly rescued mice from lethal sepsis. Balb/C mice were subjected to lethal sepsis (induced by cecal ligation and puncture, CLP). At +24, +48, and +72 hours post CLP, animals were orally administered with saline (0.2 mL/mouse) or MBC extract (0.2 mL/mouse, containing 1.0 mg lyophilized yellow substance), and animal survival rates were monitored for two weeks.</table>
