Effect of MAA on gene expression level of Bax and Bcl-2 in Ca Ski cells. Cells were treated with 60 μM MAA for different times. After designated exposure times, cells were harvested and the total RNA was extracted. The RNA was subjected to Q-PCR analysis as described in Section 2. (a) The relative gene expression level of Bax and Bcl-2 was compared to control, which was normalized against PBGD expression using the formula 2−ΔΔCT. (b) Bar charts show the ratio of Bax/Bcl-2, analyzed from the Q-PCR results. Values are mean ± S.E. of three experiments.
