Phenethyl Isothiocyanate (PEITC) Inhibits the Growth of Human Oral Squamous Carcinoma HSC-3 Cells through G0/G1 Phase Arrest and Mitochondria-Mediated Apoptotic Cell Death

Figure 1

PEITC affected on cell viability and morphological changes in HSC-3 cells. Cells were treated with 0.5, 1, 2, 2.5 and 5 μM of PEITC for 24 and 48 h or were treated with 2.5 μM of PEITC for 0, 3, 6, 12, 24, and 48 h. DMSO at 0.5% is as a vehicle control. Cell morphological changes were examined and photographed under contrast phase microscope (a: 24 h; b: 48 h). The percentage of viable cells was measured by flow cytometric assay (c and d). Data are presented as the mean ± S.E.M. of three independent experiments. * 𝑃 < 0 . 0 5 , significantly different compared with control treatment.
