Effects of Extract from Solid-State Fermented Cordyceps sinensis on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Figure 1
The blood biochemical index (cholesterol, triglyceride, and HDL/LDL ratio) and body weight of KK/HIJ mice. Blood samples were collected from the retroorbital sinus and the cholesterol (a), triglyceride, (b) and HDL/LDL (c) levels were measured following administration of 300 mg/kg/day of Cordyceps sinensis (CS), 0.5 mg/kg/day of rosiglitazone (RS), or saline (control group) for 4 consecutive weeks in HFD-treated KK/HIJ mice. Blood chemistry was analyzed on weeks 2 and 4 using a blood analyzer (Hitachi 7040). The body weight gain was recorded at 0, 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks (d). Data are mean ± SE ( for each group); *, as compared to the control group.
