Anti-Inflammatory Effect of Triterpene Saponins Isolated from Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides)

The suppression of NO generation in LPS-treated BV2 microglial cells. Cells were treated with 100 ng/mL LPS or LPS plus blue cohosh constituents for 24 h. At the end of incubation, 50 μL of the medium was collected to measure nitrite production. The amount of NO in the supernatant fractions was measured by using the Griess reagent. All values are expressed as mean ± S.E.M. from three independent experiments. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA for multiple comparison and Student-Newman-Keuls test as post hoc test. # 𝑃 < 0 . 0 0 1 in comparison with sham, * 𝑃 < 0 . 0 1 in comparison with LPS.
