Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Bangpungtongsung-San, a Traditional Herbal Prescription

Figure 3

Effects of BPTS on LPS-induced expression of iNOS and COX-2. Raw 264.7 cells (5 × 105 cells/mL) were treated with various concentrations (0.5, 0.75, and 1 mg/mL) of BPTS for 1 h, followed by continuous incubation with LPS (1 μg/mL) for the next 20 h. Control cells were incubated with vehicle alone. Western blot analysis was performed for determination of protein levels of iNOS and COX-2. β-Actin was used as a loading control. The blots shown are representative of three blots yielding similar results. iNOS and COX-2 versus β-actin were measured via densitometry. Data represent the mean ± S.D. from three separate experiments. #P < 0.05, ##P < 0.01, and ###P < 0.001 indicate significant differences from the LPS-induced group.
