Vitamin K2, a Naturally Occurring Menaquinone, Exerts Therapeutic Effects on Both Hormone-Dependent and Hormone-Independent Prostate Cancer Cells

VK2 treatment abrogates migration of prostate cancer cells in vitro. Boyden chamber assay shows that control 22RV1 (a) and control DU145 (b) prostate cancer cells have a greater number of migrated cells while 22RV1 and DU145 samples treated with 100 μM of VK2 showed fewer migrated cells in the Transwell chambers. The inhibition of cell migration suggests that VK2 may have anti-migratory properties in prostate cancer. * compared to control migrated cells.
